Compare the same face of the filter
Turn the old filter to the same face and orientation as the product photo before comparing the curve, rim and mesh. A different viewing angle can make the kidney shape look reversed. If it still looks different, send the whole model label and clear photos of both faces of the old filter. Do not force a differently shaped filter into the drawer.
Clean first; replace when damaged
Food caught in an intact filter can usually be rinsed away. For DS605/DD605, the manufacturer shows access through the basket flap, lifting the drain filter out and replacing it flush with the filter plate. Switch the appliance off, let it cool and take care with sharp debris. Follow your model instructions if its access differs. Replace a cracked frame, damaged mesh or missing filter.
