why is my coffee machine pouring slowly or producing no coffee?
slow or missing coffee flow can involve water supply, deposits or a restricted cleanable passage. it does not, by itself, establish that the pump has failed.
pause the drink using normal controls and note any warning, recent filling or cleaning. on a tank-fed machine, check the visible level and seating. switch off before permitted tank handling and do not open a hot or pressurised cap.
the linked flow guide keeps cleaning and prompted descaling specific to the machine and approved product. do not push tools into the outlet, improvise a priming sequence or remove a brew group by another model's method. avoid repeatedly running the pump without water.
leakage into the body, a burning smell, excessive heat or continued lack of flow needs support. internal water, heating, pressure-system and mains work remain professional tasks. the Philips examples do not provide a universal procedure for every coffee-machine design.
possible causes
- too little water or a tank that is not seated correctly on a tank-fed machine.
- deposits in a passage the manufacturer provides instructions to clean.
- an internal fault that needs service.
