when to get help
- keep a leaking dishwasher out of use. do not run a test cycle to locate an active leak or open panels to investigate it.
steps
- stop the machine
close the water supply tap and disconnect power only if you can do so safely. never reach through water to handle a plug.
- look for visible signs
once the machine is cool, note water at visible connections, dirt along the door seal or excess foam. check that the detergent is for dishwashers, not handwashing dishes.
- clean only what the manual allows
if the seal needs cleaning, follow the manual without removing it. a damaged connection, hidden leak or water that keeps appearing needs service. leave the dishwasher in place and do not change its plumbing.
