when to get help
- if you cannot identify the filter or a latch will not release, ask for model-specific help. replace damaged foam before use, and arrange service if the warning continues after correct cleaning and refitting.
steps
- find the right cleaning method
use the maintenance diagram to identify the part. a fixed or self-cleaning heat exchanger must not be pulled out or hosed. do not brush or probe its fins.
- cool, disconnect and clean
let the dryer cool and isolate power. release only the part shown as removable, without forcing its latches. use the specified cleaning method, clear loose lint from its seating and keep sharp tools away from exchanger fins.
- handle washable foam gently
if the instructions identify a washable foam or plinth filter, remove it by its handle and separate the handle only as shown. rinse and gently press out residue and water without twisting. follow its drying instructions; do not refit dripping, worn or distorted foam.
- refit every piece
put the filter back the correct way round and refit the seals, covers and latches. complete the drying required by the cleaning instructions before use.

- why is my dryer taking longer than usual to dry clothes?check starting wetness, load size and airflow. condenser and secondary-filter maintenance must match the dryer design.
