how to identify a food-warmer's double-ended heat lamp
record which lamp failed, then have a qualified repairer check the lamp and holder. the linked EC0421-style lamps are 350 W, 240 V dual-glass R7s lamps, approximately 180 mm tip-to-tip, with ceramic ends.
choose a single or four-pack as needed; pack size does not determine how many lamps have failed.

scope: the easy-fit format is not the older crimped-lead style or a 118 mm/300 mm lamp. do not bend holders. Roband requires qualified repairs and authorised electrical connection for hardwired units.

working on appliances can involve mains electricity, water and moving parts. always disconnect power and water before you start. in Australia, gas work must be done by a licensed gasfitter, and fixed (hard-wired) electrical work by a licensed electrician. everything on this site is guidance only, and any repair you carry out is at your own risk. we are not responsible for any damage or injury caused by attempting a repair. if you are not confident, please use a qualified technician.

steps
- switch off and cool
note which lamp went dark and whether the others worked at the time. don't run the suspect fitting for more tests. disconnect the supply using the appliance's instructions and let it cool completely.
- record the model
read the external model and any visible lamp markings while it is off and cold. don't remove panels or touch the holders.
- arrange the lamp repair
have the repairer check the failed lamp, holder, total length and ceramic ends against the product page. don't bend holders to accept another lamp or substitute a crimped-lead lamp.
- check after service
the replaced lamp should work normally. further failures or a lamp that sits poorly need the fitting checked.
