how to check the correct G9 lamp for an oven

check the oven's required lamp specification before arranging a change. this supplied G9 halogen lamp is 40 W at 220-240 V, about 42 x 13 mm and rated to 300 C; it is not suitable where 350 C is required.

the cover and holder are not supplied. these are lamp-selection and safe-access checks, not instructions for removing the old capsule or seating a replacement.

scope: disconnect and cool fully before using the manual's cover method. hold halogen glass with clean gloves or a cloth; do not force a stuck cover or use a higher-wattage lamp.

steps

  1. check the oven's requirements

consult the manual and full model, product code or slash revision in the compatibility checker. check the specified base, wattage and temperature rating for that cavity. repeated heating tests do not identify the lamp fault.

  2. cool and isolate before inspection

follow the oven instructions to disconnect power and wait until the lamp area is fully cold. use only already-safe access; do not force a stuck cover or remove an electrical enclosure.

  3. compare the lamp specification

use the manual, packaging or safely readable marking to match G9, 40 W, 220-240 V and the required heat rating. the supplied 300 C version must not be used for a higher-temperature requirement. do not remove the capsule just to identify it.

  4. arrange the actual lamp change

obtain the exact oven's cover, capsule-removal and seating instructions, or ask a technician. halogen glass needs clean gloves or a cloth during permitted handling. restore the cover before power. damaged holders, wiring, inaccessible lamps or a correctly changed lamp that stays dark need service; do not increase wattage.
