why is the filter button red on my Fisher & Paykel HPB rangehood?
on the listed HPB rangehoods, a red filter button calls for filter cleaning. resetting the reminder alone does not remove grease.
model scope: for HPB6028-1, HPB7528-1, HPB7548-1, HPB9028-1, HPB9048-1, HPB9048-2 and HPB12048-2.
red fan and power buttons are different warnings and need their own troubleshooting.
the linked guide explains safe filter removal, washing, drying and refitting before the reminder is reset. turn off, disconnect safely and support each cooled filter with both hands; do not run the hood without filters. only after the dry filters are firmly refitted should power be restored and the clean-filter button held as instructed. no universal reset duration is established for other HPB variants.
