scope: unplug before opening the dust compartment. do not empty, wash or reuse a disposable bag. fit a sheet only to its specified frame/grille; a sheet is not a direct substitute for a hepa or carbon cartridge, regardless of its label.
steps
- check the bag type
switch off and unplug before opening the normal dust compartment. check the model and bag family in the compatibility checker, not just the series name. compare the old blue GN collar and holder.
- replace the bag
check for a full or damaged bag as the manual directs, without reaching into the motor area. remove the old bag and slide the new collar fully into its holder. do not empty, wash or reuse disposable bags, or force the lid.
- check the filters
inspect accessible filters under the model's instructions and use the right type in each holder. fit a sheet only in its matching frame or grille; trim to the old insert only where the instructions require it. a sheet is not a direct replacement for a moulded hepa or carbon cartridge.
- close the compartment
the lid must close normally with the bag seated. if pickup stays weak, check the hose, head and filters as instructed rather than assuming more bags will solve it.
