how to replace a non-electric vacuum telescopic wand

replace a bent, jammed or slipping telescopic tube only after checking that the handle and head catches are sound. 10615280 is a complete chrome-finish non-electric wand with 35 mm click-lock ends.

the twin-button end joins the handle; the silver end with a rectangular slot joins the floorhead. the hose, handle and head are not supplied.

scope: not for electrical contacts, electric hose/wand or electrobrush setups, SES 121 or SET 220. Guard EasySlide, HES mid-size and X(HES) require an exact parts lookup rather than selection by range name.

steps

  1. check the tube

switch off and unplug the vacuum. check whether the tube itself is damaged or slipping, rather than the handle or head. compare both ends and release buttons, and check the full model in the compatibility checker.

  2. check for power contacts

this tube uses 35 mm non-electric fittings. stop if the old tube has electrical contacts for a powered brush; it needs a different replacement.

  3. swap the tube

use the normal release buttons to detach the handle and head. on the matching new wand, the twin-button end joins the handle and the silver end with its rectangular slot joins the floorhead. connect without force or catch alterations.

  4. check the locks

adjust the length with the normal control. check that the length lock and both ends hold before cleaning. a broken catch on the handle or head needs its own repair.
