why does my top loader keep knocking during spin?
if a top loader still knocks or stops on spin after the clothes have been spread out, the load may not be the only issue. finish the normal load and levelling checks before suspecting a spring.
pause the washer and wait until it stops completely before redistributing clothes as instructed. do not move or tilt it to inspect the suspension. if banging continues, stop use rather than attempting more spins.
the linked guide explains a technician's bias-spring and attachment check. the 424346 is a small spring, not a set of long suspension rods, and its separate clip must be sound. its front-left or rear-left attachment depends on the washer; there is no universal hook position. WA8060P requires an authorised repairer. a spring should only be replaced when it contributes to the fault.
first checks
- check the settled load
wait for a complete stop, redistribute as the manual directs and check visible levelling without moving the machine.
