how to check filters and drainage on a DS605 or DD605 DishDrawer
for DS605 and DD605, a blocked drain filter or kinked hose can contribute to water remaining in the drawer. cool and switch off before rinsing the filter; it must sit flush with the plate.
inspect only hose that is already visible. pulling out the appliance is not part of these owner checks.

when to get help
- water outside the drawer, damaged fittings or continued failure to drain needs service. do not reach through pooled water to electrical connections.
steps
- cool and switch off
let the drawer and retained water cool. turn power off at a safely reachable switch; do not reach through pooled water to electrical connections.
- rinse the drain filter
on DS605/DD605, lift the basket's filter access flap if fitted, then lift out the drain filter. empty and rinse it under running water. refit it in its recess, flush with the plate.
- clean the plate only if needed
follow the 605 guide: lift the empty basket from the back first, then lift and rinse the spray arm. hold the centre ring still and turn the outer ring anticlockwise about one-eighth turn to release the plate. handle its sharp outer edge carefully. remove debris, wash and rinse the plate.
- lock the plate and restore the drawer
seat the plate flat and lock it with the ring so the guide's alignment lines meet; it must not move freely. refit the arm on its impeller and lower the basket front edge first. check the drain filter is flush and all parts are secure. these are 605 instructions, not the newer DD60 method.
- inspect only visible hose
look for a kink only where the drain hose is already visible. leave concealed hoses and cabinet removal to a repairer. continued retained water, damaged fittings or a leak needs service.
