why does my drawer dishwasher leave food on the dishes?
a drawer dishwasher may leave food on dishes when utensils block the spray arm, spray holes are clogged or filters are dirty. an incorrectly seated filter plate can also affect washing.
stop the wash normally and let the drawer cool before checking the load. look for utensils projecting through the rack into the spray-arm path and make sure the rack or insert is seated correctly.
the linked filter-and-spray-arm guide explains permitted removable-part care. older DS605/DD605 locking-ring plates differ from the newer DD60 lift-out examples, so use your drawer's release and alignment instructions. leave the motor rotor in place and take care around sharp plate edges.
refit every required piece securely and check that the spray arm moves freely before use. do not run without the filter, plate or arm. persistent poor washing, knocking, leakage or excess retained water needs further checking rather than assuming a replacement rotor is required.
possible causes
- items blocking the spray arm or its water path
- food collected in the filter
- the filter plate is not seated correctly
