how to replace a DishDrawer base rack
replace a damaged, worn or rusted base rack only after confirming the matching 522657 rack and full product-code conditions. one grey base rack is supplied without separate adjustable or folding crockery inserts; transfer only required matching inserts in good condition.
the back-first lift and front-first seating below apply to the DD60 rack arrangement illustrated in Fisher & Paykel guide 590030A. confirm that your exact model's care diagram matches; do not use a ninth-series top-right lift or older 605 filter-release method by analogy.

scope: disconnect, cool and empty the drawer before normal rack removal. keep the full product-code conditions and follow the exact care instructions; similar rack shapes do not prove fit.
steps
- check the exact rack and empty the drawer
disconnect power, let the drawer cool and remove all dishes. compare the base rack and its removable inserts, full model and product-code conditions. confirm that the exact care diagram shows the same rear-lift/front-first rack arrangement; if not, obtain the correct instructions.
- lift the matching base rack from the back
for the arrangement in guide 590030A, unclip glass supports from the rack wires and fold the adjustable racks upright out of the way. lift the back end of the base rack first, then lift it clear without striking the detergent/rinse-aid dispenser. this rack change does not require removing the filter plate, motor or tub.
- lower the matching rack front edge first
transfer only serviceable matching inserts, using their documented attachment positions; they are not included with the bare rack. lower the new base rack's front edge into position first, then settle the rest of the rack securely. do not force an unclear insert retainer or mismatched rack.
- check the inserts and spray-arm clearance
restore the required inserts and glass supports in their intended positions. check that the rack is seated securely and the spray arm turns freely without touching it or an insert before loading dishes.
