why does my Fisher & Paykel ice & water dispenser drip after filter work?
air left in the water system after installation or filter work can cause drips that overflow the dispenser shelf. wiping them up does not clear the air or complete a new filter's commissioning.
model scope: Fisher & Paykel ice & water E402B, E442B, E522B, RF522W, RF522A, RF610A and RF540A.
check only safely visible tubing and do not pull out a plumbed-in fridge.
the linked guide explains the manual's intermittent 3 L dispensing step for trapped air, with a suitable container and the shelf kept from overflowing. that step is not the whole new-filter flush: follow the separate commissioning sequence in the appliance and filter instructions. do not transfer its quantity or filter location to other models. continuing leakage, damaged tubing or water near electrical fittings calls for safely closing the accessible supply and getting help.
first checks
- record the recent filter work
note when drips began and whether water is confined to the dispenser shelf or leaking elsewhere, without moving the plumbed appliance.
possible causes
- trapped air in the dispenser tank
- new filter has not been fully flushed
