why is water flowing slowly from my fridge dispenser?
slow dispenser flow can involve a restricted filter, the wrong cartridge or poor seating. a restriction in the water supply can look similar, so a new filter is not an assured fix.
note whether flow deteriorated gradually or changed immediately after a cartridge replacement. check the cartridge identity against the appliance instructions, not just its shape. the linked filter guide applies only where the manual allows owner cartridge changes.
shut off the water before permitted reseating. follow the correct release and locking marks, restore the supply and flush the stated amount while watching for leaks. reset the reminder only after the completed filter change; resetting does not clean the cartridge or restore a restricted supply.
for continued poor flow, persistent dripping or housing damage, close the supply if safe and arrange service. leave hinge covers, couplers, inlet valves and concealed pipework alone.
possible causes
- a filter restricted by accumulated material
- an incorrect or poorly seated cartridge
- a restriction in the water supply
