why is my smartwatch not showing a charging indication?
a poor connection, damp exposed contacts or cable damage can prevent a smartwatch showing charge. the missing indication does not, by itself, establish a battery fault.
disconnect and inspect the cable and watch connection without bending or scraping pins. the linked guide allows contact cleaning only where those contacts are fitted and the exact watch instructions provide a method. keep liquid out of openings and let contacts dry completely before charging.
use the cable and power source specified for the watch, seat the connection gently and check its own charging indication. Garmin's proprietary connector and care instructions are examples, not evidence for every smartwatch or a common charging time.
stop charging for unusual heat, swelling, corrosion damage or broken pins. if the correct connection still produces no indication, seek manufacturer support. do not open a sealed battery or try an unconfirmed reset sequence.
possible causes
- the charging connection is not seated correctly.
- exposed contacts are dirty or damp, where fitted.
- visible cable or connector damage.
- a charger or watch fault that needs assessment.
