why does my vacuum bag warning appear before the bag looks full?
fine dust can clog a vacuum bag's material while there is still space inside. a nozzle, hose or wand blockage can also trigger a bag warning, so appearance alone is not enough.
model scope: bagged vacuums.
switch off and isolate the vacuum before checking normal detachable connections for reachable debris. do not force rods through a hose or dismantle a powered hose. the linked airflow guide covers those accessible checks and the bag compartment.
replace a restricted disposable bag with the correct new type and seat its collar properly. do not empty and reuse it or force the compartment lid shut. follow separate cleaning or replacement instructions for each filter; not all exhaust filters are washable.
if the warning or overheating continues with clear accessible airways and correct bag fitting, arrange service. indicator colours and bag specifications vary between models; this article does not establish a shared bag type.
possible causes
- fine dust has clogged the bag material
- the nozzle, hose or wand is blocked
