why does my Fisher & Paykel WashSmart or QuickSmart refill before spinning?
a refill followed by agitation and another spin can be automatic out-of-balance recovery, not an inlet-valve fault. this applies to WA60T56G, WA55T56G, MW60, MW513, WA8056G and WA8056M when that recovery option is selected.
model scope: WashSmart/QuickSmart WA60T56G, WA55T56G, MW60, MW513, WA8056G and WA8056M.
compare the observed sequence with the exact guide. pause and wait for the bowl to stop completely and the lid to unlock before spreading an uneven load. repeated imbalance also calls for the normal load, water-level and levelling checks; do not bypass the lid lock or reach into movement.
the linked guide explains the automatic-recovery versus stop-and-redistribute preference. changing it does not repair suspension damage. persistent banging, leakage or water continuing to enter outside the described recovery sequence needs assessment rather than reassurance that all refilling is normal.
first checks
- distinguish the sequence
record refill-agitate-spin recovery versus water entering continuously, and wait for a complete stop and unlock before redistribution.
possible causes
- automatic out-of-balance recovery is selected
- laundry gathered on one side of the bowl
