scope: Simpson SWF85561, SWF85661 and SWF10761 only; cool, safely emptied drum and normally released door.
when to get help
- stop for retained hot water, sharp objects, a locked door or a cover/filter that will not release or reseat. persistent drainage failure needs service.
steps
- make sure opening the door is safe
if water reaches the door opening, is hot or the door stays locked, get help with drainage first. once safely empty and cool, set the selector to off and unplug.
- align and clean the in-drum filter
open the door and turn the stationary drum until the filter cover lines up with the arrow on the seal. press the cover's special hook and rotate the cover upwards, then hold the filter and lift it out. rinse it under a tap and remove accessible lint.
- refit the filter correctly
return the filter as shown in the model guide. its indicator must be visible and it must click into place. secure the cover before use; do not force a stuck catch.
