how to replace a dryer plinth foam filter

clean and inspect the plinth foam before replacing it. torn, distorted or persistently blocked foam can leave gaps or restrict airflow.

the 12551630-compatible pack contains two washable foam filters, about 205 x 153 x 30 mm each. fit one to the sound existing handle and holder; keep the other as a spare while one dries.

scope: compare the shaped corner, thickness and handle holes. unplug and cool before access. follow the model's drying instructions, avoid the sharp heat-exchanger fins and never run without the filter.

steps

  1. unplug and cool the dryer

unplug the dryer and let it cool. inspect for tears, distortion or gaps after the recommended cleaning. check the full model and compare the shaped corner, thickness and handle holes.

  2. remove the old foam

open the lower flap as instructed and pull out the filter by its handle. remove the worn foam and wipe accessible lint from the handle.

  3. fit one filter

fit one foam element the right way round without stretching it. seat it fully and close the flap. don't refit dripping-wet foam, reach into the sharp fins or run without the filter.

  4. check the fit

the foam must sit closely and the flap must close normally. warnings that continue after the recommended care need service.
